What Babiz is

Babiz is a private, personal project that helps a small group — a couple, a family — find times that work for everyone and put the resulting event on each person's calendar. It is not a commercial product. It is not advertising supported. There is nobody to sell your data to.

What Babiz cannot see

This is the important part, so it comes first. Babiz requests only two calendar permissions from Google:

  • Free/busy access. Google tells Babiz only when you are busy — start and end times. Titles, descriptions, locations, guests and attachments are never sent.
  • Access to calendars Babiz itself creates. Babiz makes one new calendar in your account and can manage events on that calendar only.

Babiz holds no permission to read your existing events. This is not a promise about our conduct — it is a limit on what Google will hand over. A bug in Babiz cannot leak an event title it was never able to request.

What Babiz stores

  • Your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account.
  • Which calendars you connected, their names, and your visibility settings.
  • Events created through Babiz, and the proposals and responses that led to them.
  • Access and refresh tokens for your Google account, encrypted at rest.

Busy times fetched from Google are used to answer the question in front of you and are not written to long-term storage.

Who sees it

Only members of the groups you join, and only as much as your own visibility settings allow. You choose your level per calendar, and can override it for a specific group. Nobody who invited you can set that level on your behalf.

Data is not shared with any third party, used for advertising, used to train models, or sold. Data is stored in a hosted PostgreSQL database (Neon) and the application runs on Vercel.

Removing your data

You can revoke Babiz's access to your Google account at any time from your Google account permissions. Doing so immediately stops Babiz reading your availability or writing events.

Deleting your Babiz account removes your profile, connected calendar records, visibility settings, tokens, proposals and responses. Events already written to your Google Calendar stay there — they are yours, on your calendar, and Babiz does not reach back to remove them.

Contact

Babiz is run by one person. For any question about your data — including a request to delete it — email support@babiz.app. It reaches a real person, and replies come from one.
